|Name||Occult Warfare Department|
|Origin||Clive Barker's Jericho|
The Department of Occult Warfare was created in the 1930s to combat the supernatural and unexplained. Another purpose was to meet Nazi Germany's own research into the paranormal. It was also meant to be an alternative to both the Center, which was an international organization that was rather neutral and to the British Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense (before it crossed over to the US.) Unlike the other two groups, they are more militaristic in nature and in fact allied to a government. They are closely allied to the CIA.
One of their most brilliant members, Arnold Leach, was recruited in 1962. Although he was incredibly talented and was one of the greatest minds in the Occult arts. But he was also ruthless and reckless when it came to his research and eventually, not even the Occult Warfare Department could turn a blind eye to his sick and twisted experiments and soon after, he was filed for termination. Having expected something like this, he fled before he could be assasinated and it would take the department 5 years to find him. But Leach still had one trick left. When they tried to assassinate him in a mall, he ripped holes into an other dimension, unleashing the monsters it held, using the onslaught that followed to cover his escape.
For the next 20 years, he led a cult that commited horrendous acts of violence and depravity around the world. It was only in 2006 that Jericho finally learned the true motives of his cult. They were building a Karma bomb and were going to detonate it Al-Khali. Al-Khali was an ancient village in the Middle East and the Prison of the Firstborn. They failed however to stop Arnold and were sent to close the gate before the Firstborn could escape. The elite Jericho Squad that was sent, was sent on a suicide mission but managed eventually to destroy the Firstborn's allies as well as seal the Firstborn away once again. It did however result in the death of half the Jericho Squad.
When the Omega Event shook the US, they first thought there was a connection to Al-Khali but soon they learned there was no connection.
